Bemowo Cultural Centre is a community cultural hub located in the fastest developing district of Warsaw. We organise concerts, theatrical performances, debates, meetings with writers as well as community gatherings.
About us
Bemowo Cultural Centre in Bemowo District in the Capital City of Warsaw started operating in March 2006. The Centre’s offer is aimed above all at the inhabitants of Bemowo but also entire Warsaw, regardless of age and social status. Since 2014, the cultural centre has been an institution that changes its character. Its workers are focused on activities involving the local community. It runs the Project Laboratory (a regranting project with a series of worshops) in various parts of Bemowo, supports actions that aim at raising the readership rate within the community, organises neighbours’ dinners, musical and theatrical workshops as well as discussions about the most important inhabitants’ problems. It conducts a research on the identity of the district within the frame of a series of Historical Lectures on Bemowo District. It cooperates, among others, with Adam Mickiewicz Univeristy, National Centre For Culture, the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute, the New Jewish Music Festival, Polin Museum of the History of Polish Jews, Docs Against Gravity, Orange Foundation, Warsaw Reads Festival (Festiwal Warszawa Czyta), Institute of Polish Culture of Warsaw University. Bemowo Cultural Centre also supports, among others, 3275 kg Orchestra, Jazz.fm Radio and the Zgoda Theatre.
Vision
Bemowo Cultural Centre in Bemowo District in the Capital City of Warsaw will be the leading centre of socio-cultural animation in Poland actively co-creating cultural and social life of the district. BCC will constitute a vital part of the discourse on the role of culture in the modern world, with a clear emphasis on local contexts. This will be achieved through activation of the local community, cooperation with institutional and cultural partners, people of culture and arts, social and cultural innovators as well as academia.
Mission
Bemowo Cultural Centre activates and engages inhabitants of the district providing conditions for development of social and creative skills. BCC supports personal growth by respecting individual choices and passions and builds social ties in the spirit of tolerance and respect.
